Aljoša Pavelin

President of the management board & CEO

A turnaround executive who delivers results. His strong focus on Strategy, Business Transformation and Development, and Sales Management casts long-term path for short-term results. Graduated in automation and robotics from the University of Split, he took an active role in shaping Croatian ICT industry, on various technical and managing positions for 18 years. Strong technical background facilitated his transition to marketing and sales realm and consequently to top management level.

Most of his career Aljoša worked for Croatian Telecom, Inc., member of Deutsche Telekom Group, where he gained and developed his leadership skills in a corporative environment. Part of his career Aljoša has also managed few entrepreneurial, medium-size, hi-tech companies in an international arena.

In May 2016, he joins Viktor Lenac Shipyard, as President and CEO, and starts Shipyard's transformation. His focus is on achieving sustainable profitability, through higher productivity, strict cost management, and new working culture.

Aljoša holds an EMBA from the IEDC Business School Bled.

He believes that knowledge, hard work and personal integrity are the traits that lead to a genuine success.

Aljoša enjoys flying and holds a Private Pilot License.

Sandra Uzelac

Member of the Management Board & CFO

It seems that her entire education and work experience led her to the current position of Financial Director. Graduated in economics from the Faculty of Economics Rijeka, she immediately began her journey at Viktor Lenac where she gathered more than 24 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and finance. Sandra has been in the leadership of the company through survival, reorganization and privatization.

With her postgraduate degree in planning, analysis and controlling, she provides an unavoidable bridge between management and other organisational units and assumes responsibilities that enable company’s core business develop in transparency and integrity, on solid and proven foundations.

As a valuable member of the team, her decisive and pro-active attitude contributes to promptly finding concrete solutions to complex financial and planning-related issues, which in the long run are the basis for all other company’s activities.

From her youthful days, as a scout, she learned that diligence, perseverance, honesty, and continuous learning can achieve goals.

With her immense financial knowledge and experience, Sandra is a welcome asset as Member of the Board in her third term.

Branko Mataija

Vice President for Business Development

Branko graduated from the Faculty of Maritime Studies Rijeka, the oldest and the biggest high maritime college in the Southeast Europe. His entire education and career have been related to marine world. After gaining some experience navigating, in 1981 he was employed by Viktor Lenac while still studying.

Over the years he became a byword for the shipyard in market circles. His natural talent for finding and attracting new clients and jobs, he upgraded by perfecting his selling, negotiating and contracting skills. He attended prestigious seminars and courses in sales and marketing such as Fisher Maritime's Contract Management Leadership and Shipyard Risk Management, Rolls-Royce's Project and Matrix organization and Lean Project Planning and many others.

There are always obstacles in the path, but Branko just keeps going. He has a good nose for business and trends. He gives clients the respect they want and deserve, and the clients trust him. Branko is excellent in communication and this helps him go ahead and make fruitful deals even in the most challenging situations.

He found his true passion in his work. There is a long list of deals he has made and the list of clients who return to the shipyard and become steady customers is increasing, thanks also to his contribution to maintaining long-lasting relationships. Branko’s experience is valuable and he is pleased to pass it on to new, young generations.

Branko is member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers.

Bojan Kavazović

Marketing and Sales Director

Don’t limit your challenges. Challenge your limits. Bojan proved his motto and challenged his limits when recently accepted a new position as Shipyard’s Director of Marketing and Sales.

Graduated from the Faculty of Engineering Rijeka, after gaining experience as Maintenance Manager and Site Manager in the country and abroad, he came to Viktor Lenac in 1998. Bojan was quickly promoted from Assistant Ship Repair Manager to Senior Project Engineer and in just a couple of years he was appointed Manager of Ship Repair Sales Department. He got first-hand knowledge of all the technical and commercial aspects of sales activities, from cost estimates and quotations, risk assessment, contract negotiation, project development, procurement to financial and profitability analysis.

In ever changing and highly competitive business environment, Bojan has the forethought and steadiness to build relationships of a long-lasting nature.

Bojan successfully completed several contract and project management courses by Fisher Maritime and IBM and holds an EMBA from the the IEDC Business School Bled.

He believes the keys to success are an open mind, hard work, loyalty and honesty.

Zlatko Marović

Technology and Production Director

Zlatko comes from a small town of Kostrena, famous for its maritime tradition. Kostrena gave many sailors, chief engineers and captains respected in the shipping and shipbuilding world. So, it was quite natural for Zlatko to choose a vocation related to ships and the sea.

Naval architect, graduated in technology and organization of shipbuilding from the Faculty of Engineering Rijeka, he started gathering his work experience while still studying. He worked in the country and abroad as Sales Manager, Site Manager and Project Manager. Prior to coming to Viktor Lenac, he served as the Technical Director of the Kraljevica Shipyard. His high technical expertise in various disciplines, excellent organizational, coordination and planning skills allow him to look ahead and accomplish goals.

Zlatko shows an enormous amount of enthusiasm towards his work and has proved in a short time that he is a true team player, a valuable and dependable member.
